Allow the battery to drain below 25% charge level if possible.
If the battery is swollen, take necessary precautions before proceeding.
Apply a heated iOpener to the right edge of the back cover for 2 minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Avoid overheating the phone to prevent damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover, centered at the right edge.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Slide a pick along the right edge, moving it back and forth to separate the adhesive.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert the opening pick into the top right corner.
Use a iOpener to heat the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Hold the opening pick at the bottom left corner and gently rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Be careful not to apply too much pressure, which may damage the surrounding components.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Apply iOpener heat to the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Risk of damage to rear cameras: avoid pushing on lens surfaces.
Grab and remove the back cover.
If your cover is still sticking to the frame, carefully slide an opening pick around the perimeter until it separates completely.
Remove any adhesive chunks using a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
If needed, apply heat and isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater) to aid in adhesive removal.
Use a spudger to pry up the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.
Do not press in the middle or misalign the connector — risk of pin damage.
Remove the six Phillips head screws securing the wireless charging coil.
Be careful not to damage any nearby components during this process.
Next, remove the seven Phillips head screws securing the loudspeaker.
Insert spudger into top left notch of loudspeaker.
Use your fingers to lift the loudspeaker away from the frame.
Apply gentle pressure around the perimeter of the loudspeaker to clip it securely during reassembly.
Position the spudger on the battery press connector and gently pry it away.
Use the spudger to gently pry up and release the earpiece speaker press connector.
Remove the earpiece speaker's screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of your spudger between the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker and the silver shield on the motherboard.
Do not insert your spudger anywhere else, as you risk dislodging fragile surface-mounted components.
During reassembly, insert the top end of the earpiece speaker into the frame first before pressing down and clipping it back in.
