Replacing the USB-C port or daughterboard in a Samsung Galaxy S23+ requires replacing the entire assembly, as they are soldered together.
A fully charged lithium-ion battery poses a safety risk.
Disconnect all cables from your phone.
Press and hold the side key and volume down button. Select "Power off" to shut down your device.
Careful not to overheat the phone, as it can cause damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover, centered on the right edge.
Avoid overheating — follow iOpener instructions carefully.
Slide a pick along the right edge, moving it back and forth to separate the adhesive.
Leave the pick inserted near the bottom right corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Apply iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Insert the second pick at the bottom right corner.
Insert an opening pick at the top right corner of the device.
Apply a iOpener to the left edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick at the bottom left corner of the device and rotate it slowly to start separating the adhesive.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick into the top right corner.
Avoid applying excessive pressure, which may cause further damage.
Be careful not to damage the rear cameras by pushing against their lenses.
Remove the back cover by gently prying it off.
Use an opening pick around the perimeter if the cover is stuck to the frame, working until complete separation.
Remove any remaining adhesive chunks with tweezers or your fingers, applying heat and isopropyl alcohol (90%+ if needed).
Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry up and release the NFC antenna press connector.
Remove the wireless charging coil by taking out its six Phillips screws. Each screw is 3.5 mm long.
Be careful not to touch any electronic components.
Use a plastic spudger and insert it into the notch at the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
Use your fingers to carefully lift the loudspeaker away from the frame.
Insert the point of the spudger into the battery press connector and gently pry it loose.
Remove and replace the motherboard interconnect cables as done previously.
Disconnect and remove all interconnect cables.
Remove the three screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Do not pry against the battery — risk of damage.
When reassembling, insert the USB-C port into its recess at an angle before pressing the daughterboard flat onto the frame.
