This guide is for replacing the screen in a Samsung Galaxy S23+ on its own or with a pre-installed screen frame. Be aware that this process will damage the original screen.
Note: Re-applying adhesive correctly is crucial to maintain water resistance and IP rating.
Allow the battery level to fall below 25% for safety.
Unplug all cables from the phone.
Excessive heat can cause damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover near its right edge.
Heat an iOpener and apply it to the bottom edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert the opening pick into the bottom left corner and slide it towards you to separate the adhesive.
Do not remove the pick, as this will allow the adhesive to reseal.
Apply a iOpener to the left edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert third opening pick at bottom left corner.
Apply iOpener to the top edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick into the display's seam.
Avoid removing the pick until repairs are complete.
Risk of damage to rear cameras: avoid touching them with the opening pick.
Remove the back cover.
Power on your phone and test functions before reassembling. Power down completely before continuing.
Remove any adhesive chunks with a pair of tweezers or fingers.
Risk of pin damage if not aligned properly.
Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up and release the NFC antenna press connector.
Remove the Phillips screwdriver and take out the thirteen 3.5 mm-long screws.
Locate the notch at the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
Use your fingers to gently pry the loudspeaker away from the frame.
Insert the pointed end of the spudger under the battery press connector, then gently pry it up to release.
Insert the flat end of the spudger into the press connector.
Careful not to damage the display cable or its connector.
Gently pry up and disconnect the display cable from the back of the screen.
Align and attach the back cover to the frame, protecting the battery and internal components.
Do not apply new adhesive at this step; it will need to be removed later during reassembly.
Gloves and safety glasses are recommended for protection against flying glass shards.
Do not overheat the phone, as the battery may be damaged by excessive heat.
Apply a suction handle to the center of the screen's top edge, as close as possible.
Do not insert the iFlex too far, as this may damage the front-facing camera.
Locate a top corner on the iFlex and press it against a corner of the front glass to create a gap.
Insert an opening pick into a seam near the top edge of the front glass.
Remove the front glass from its mounting frame.
Be careful not to apply excessive heat that can damage the display.
Insert the opening pick into the edge of the screen panel and gently slide it around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive.
Hold a corner of the screen panel and gently pry it away from the frame.
