Repairing the rear camera may compromise your device's IP rating and water resistance, depending on back cover adhesive reapplied correctly.
Do not charge a lithium-ion battery below 25% capacity for safety reasons.
Do not apply excessive heat as it can cause damage to the display and battery.
Apply a suction handle near the right edge of the back cover.
Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force to create a gap between the cover and frame.
Be cautious not to overheat the adhesive; refer to iOpener instructions for guidance.
Slide a pick back and forth along the right edge to loosen the adhesive.
Do not remove the pick, as this can cause the adhesive to reseal.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Locate the bottom right corner of the device.
Apply a iOpener to the left edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert the opening pick into the bottom left corner and rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Avoid overheating the device — risk of damage.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner.
Insert opening pick into top right corner.
Leave opening pick in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
There's a remaining patch of adhesive directly under the flash.
Avoid touching the rear cameras with your pick; pushing against the lenses risks damaging them.
Remove the back cover.
Power on your phone and test all functions before closing, then power down when done.
For custom-cut adhesives, follow the specific guide.
For double-sided tape, refer to its dedicated guide.
Avoid damaging the wireless charging coil press connector or motherboard pins.
Insert the spudger tip into the NFC antenna press connector.
Remove six Phillips screws securing the wireless charging coil and seven Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker.
Insert spudger into the notch at the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
Use your fingers to carefully lift the loudspeaker away from the frame.
Use the point of your spudger to pry up and release the battery press connector.
Hold the spudger at an angle and carefully pry up the earpiece speaker press connector
Remove the earpiece speaker by unscrewing its mounting screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of your spudger between the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker and the silver shield on the motherboard.
Do not insert your spudger anywhere else, as this may risk dislodging fragile surface-mounted components.
During reassembly, insert the top end of the earpiece speaker into the frame first before pressing down and clipping it back in.
Disconnect the interconnect cables.
Locate the antenna press connector and insert the tip of your spudger between its left edge and the sliver plate on the motherboard.
Careful, as fragile surface mounted-components surround this area; prying on other edges risks dislodging them from the board.
Disconnect the display and 5G mmWave cable press connectors using a spudger.
Use your spudger to pry up and disconnect the front camera press connector.
Remove the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver. They are each 3.5 mm long.
Insert the flat end of a spudger between the motherboard and the frame near the earpiece speaker cutout.
During reassembly, ensure all cables are out of the way before placing the motherboard back into the frame to avoid damaging any connections.
Remove the ultrawide, then wide-angle, and finally telephoto cameras from top to bottom.
Insert the spudger point into the main camera press connector.
During reassembly, reinstall rear cameras in reverse order (Telephoto → Main → Ultrawide) to ensure proper alignment.
The rear camera assembly is unchanged.
