Samsung Galaxy S22 Screen Replacement

Your device may lose water resistance and its IP rating after the repair due to new adhesive application.

  • Replace the screen as described in this guide.
  • If your replacement includes a new frame and battery, use a different guide for installation.

Step 1 | Heat the bottom edge

  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but exercise caution to avoid overheating the phone and damaging its display or internal battery.

Step 4 | Slice the bottom adhesive

Slide a pick back and forth along the bottom edge to cut through the adhesive.

Step 7 | Heat the right edge

Apply heat to the right edge of the back cover using an iOpener for 2 minutes.

  • If the adhesive has resealed, move the pick closer to the bottom edge.
  • Slide the pick towards the top right corner to slice the adhesive.

Step 9 | Heat the top edge

Apply heat to the top edge of the iPad back cover using a heated iOpener for 2 minutes.

Insert a spudger into the gap at the top right edge.

  • Slide it across the top edge and around the top left corner.
  • Be cautious not to insert more than 4 mm, as this may damage the rear cameras or flash.

Step 11 | Remove the back cover

  • If still attached, use an opening pick to slide around the perimeter and separate the cover from the frame.

Power on your phone and test all functions before continuing.

Make sure the phone is completely powered down before proceeding further.

  • Remove any remaining adhesive chunks with tweezers or your fingers. If needed, apply heat for assistance.

Follow this guide to apply new adhesive.

Step 12 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Do not press down in the middle of the connector — risk of pin bending and damage.

  • Use a spudger to pry up the wireless charging coil from the motherboard.
  • To reattach, align and press one side until it clicks, then repeat on the other side.

  • The screws are 6 in total, each 3.5 mm long.
