  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-adhesion.

Step 7 | Heat the right edge

Step 7 image

Heat an iOpener and apply it to the right edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

Step 8 | Slice the right adhesive

Step 8 image

  • Be prepared for this step to take some time and patience.
  • Slide the pick to the top right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in place at the top right corner to prevent resealing.

Step 9 | Heat the top edge

Step 9 image

Apply heat from an iOpener to the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

Grab and remove the back cover.

  • If still attached, use an opening pick to slide along the perimeter until completely separated.
  • During reassembly:
    • Power on your phone and test functions before sealing.
    • Make sure to power down your phone completely before proceeding.

  • Remove any adhesive chunks with tweezers or fingers, applying heat if necessary.
  • To reapply new adhesive, refer to the provided guide.

Use a spudger to pry up the wireless charging coil from the motherboard.

  • To reattach press connectors, carefully align them and press down on one side until it clicks into place.
  • Repeat the process on the other side. Do not press in the middle of the connector.

Misaligned connectors can cause permanent damage to the pins.

Step 13 | Unfasten the wireless charging coil

Step 13 image

Remove the wireless charging coil's six 3.5 mm-long screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 14 | Unfasten the loudspeaker

Step 14 image
