How to Install a New Battery in Your Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

To continue with installing a new battery in your Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, it is essential that you have first removed the existing one.

Step 1 | Clean the frame

Remove large adhesive chunks from the frame using fingers or tweezers.

  • Apply 3-4 drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (greater than 90%) to remaining adhesive.
  • Scrape off remaining adhesive with the flat end of a spudger.

Apply additional isopropyl alcohol (>90% concentration) to any remaining adhesive residue.

  • Wipe clean with a microfiber cloth or lint-free wipe.

Step 3 | Measure and cut the tape

Measure the exposed metal frame in the battery recess to determine the correct length for the tape strips.

  • Cut the double-sided tape into strips of suitable width and length using scissors or a craft knife.
  • Ensure the cut strips are slightly longer than needed, as they will need to be trimmed to fit precisely in place later on.

Step 4 | Apply the strips of tape

Apply a tape strip to the frame.

  • Press down on the tape using the flat end of your spudger firmly along its length.
  • Use tweezers to remove the liner from the tape strip.

Apply additional strips of tape as needed, repeating the process from the previous step.

Step 6 | Secure the battery

Hold the battery above its recess.

  • Reconnect the battery cable while holding the battery in place.
  • Lay the battery into its recess in the frame.
  • Press down firmly on the entire surface of the battery to secure it with tape.

Do not proceed without securing the battery first, as this may cause damage or injury.

  • Disconnect the battery cable.
  • Return to your repair guide and continue reassembly.
