Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Charging Board Replacement

This guide is for replacing the charging board on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra SM-G998B/DS (international model) and may vary for other models due to additional antenna cables in the midframe.

  • Charging Board Replacement:
  • Note: Water protection may be compromised if adhesive seals are not reattached during reassembly.

Do not proceed without replacement adhesive to ensure proper reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Unplug and power off your phone before starting.

Be cautious when applying heat as the display and internal battery can be damaged by excessive heat.

  • Apply an iOpener to the back cover for at least three minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but avoid overheating.

Attach a suction handle to the back cover's edge, near the edge.

  • If the back cover is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape for better adhesion.
  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle, creating a small gap between it and the frame.

Avoid overheating when using heat: follow iOpener instructions carefully.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Move the opening pick to the bottom left corner to cut through the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive
