This guide is for replacing the loudspeaker on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus (SM-G996B/DS). Note that other models may have an additional antenna cable in the midframe edge.
Avoid overheating your device — heat-sensitive components can suffer damage.
Secure a suction handle to the back cover's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.
If you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further, but follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom edge.
If adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has likely cooled down.
When slicing near the camera assembly, only insert the tip of the opening pick (~4-5 mm) to avoid damage.
Insert a 5th opening pick under the bottom left corner.
When near the power button, insert only ~3-4 mm of the tip to avoid damaging the flex cable.
Remove the back cover.
Do not proceed without powering down your phone — risk of damage from accidental turn-on during reassembly.
Avoid using low-concentration cleaning solutions as they may leave behind residue.
Risk of chemical leak or thermal event: avoid puncturing or bending the battery with your tool.
Insert a opening pick under the bottom of the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly.
Disconnect the charging coil by prying the connector straight up with a spudger.
Disconnect the NFC antenna connector with a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.
