Failing to reapply adhesive seals during reassembly may compromise water protection, even if the device functions normally.
Apply iOpener to back cover for 3 minutes to loosen adhesive.
Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.
If the back cover is cracked, the suction handle may not stick — try lifting it with strong tape or superglue in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Leave the opening picks in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
If the adhesive hardens, it may be due to cooling down.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom right corner of your phone.
When slicing near the camera assembly, use only the tip of the opening pick (approximately 4-5 mm) to avoid damaging or smearing the camera.
Insert opening pick under bottom left corner.
When slicing near power button, only insert ~3-4 mm of opening pick tip to avoid damaging power and volume button flex cable.
Remove the back cover.
Power on your phone and test all functions during reassembly to ensure proper operation.
Power down your phone completely before continuing work.
Avoid puncturing or bending the battery with your tool to prevent chemical leaks and thermal events.
Insert a opening pick under the bottom end of the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly.
Disconnect the charging coil connector with a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.
Disconnect the NFC antenna by prying its connector straight up from its socket using a spudger.
Remove the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly using a pair of tweezers or your fingertips.
Disconnect the battery cable using a spudger, prying the connector straight up from its socket.
Remove the earpiece speaker assembly by unscrewing the seven 3.9mm Phillips screws.
Use a spudger to pry the earpiece speaker cable connector straight up from its socket.
Remove the earpiece speaker assembly using tweezers or your fingers.
