Replacing the adhesive seals is crucial; failure to do so will compromise your device's water resistance, despite proper functionality.
Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least three minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.
Careful not to overheat the phone, as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.
Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.
If you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat, but follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom edge of your phone.
Allow the iOpener to heat the adhesive for 2-3 minutes if it becomes hard to cut.
When cutting near the camera, insert only the tip of the opening pick (~4-5 mm) to avoid damage or smudging.
Insert the opening pick ~3-4 mm under the bottom left corner.
Remove the back cover.
Use high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol to wipe away any adhesive residue. Risk of skin irritation.
If using Samsung custom-cut adhesives, consult the specific guide provided.
If using double-sided tape, consult the specific guide provided for proper reattachment and usage instructions.
Do not puncture or bend the battery with your tool — risk of chemical leak or thermal event.
