Discharge battery to below 25% for safety and to prevent thermal events or damage.
Power off your device completely.
Apply a suction cup to the back of the phone, centered on the bottom edge.
If difficult, apply more heat and retry.
Apply gentle pressure, moving the pick back and forth along the device's bottom edge to break down the adhesive.
Never remove the pick until you have successfully separated the components, as resealing of the adhesive may occur.
Apply a iOpener to the left edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Apply a suction cup to the phone's back, near the left edge.
Avoid cutting past the camera area — risk of damaging the plastic.
Heat the iOpener and apply it to the back cover's right edge for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick into the gap, but do not insert it more than 3 mm to avoid damaging the secondary interconnect cable.
Insert a right-edge opening pick into the top-right corner of the phone.
Do not insert the pick more than 5 mm to avoid damaging internal components.
This procedure can be repeated for each corner except the top-left where the rear-facing camera is located.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the camera shell for 2 minutes.
Rotate the back cover counterclockwise to create a 5 mm gap between the camera shell and frame.
If this method doesn't work, proceed with caution as alternative methods may require specialized tools.
Risk of cracking the plastic back cover.
Apply heat as necessary due to strong adhesive bonding.
Risk of tool damage: be cautious of the plate under the phone's flash.
Line up the opening pick with your phone's flash.
Remove the back cover.
Use high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol to wipe away any remaining residue, risking damage otherwise.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five 4 mm-long screws securing the motherboard bracket to the frame.
Use a pair of tweezers to gently lift up and release the motherboard bracket from its frame.
Do not remove the bracket completely yet, as it is still secured to the wireless charging coil.
To avoid damaging the socket or surrounding components, carefully pry up the battery press connector with a spudger under its edge.
When re-attaching press connectors, align and press down on one side until it clicks into place, then repeat on the other. Never press in the middle to avoid pin bending and permanent damage.
Peel the wireless charging coil away from the phone using your fingers.
Remove the six 4mm x #1 Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker using a Phillips screwdriver.
Locate the notch in the top-left corner of the loudspeaker.
