Galaxy S20 SIM/MicroSD Card Tray Replacement

The SIM card tray on the Galaxy S20 is hybrid.

  • Eject the SIM card tray to replace or add a component.
  • You can add a nano SIM card, MicroSD memory card, or (in certain models) a second nano SIM card through this slot.

Step 1 | Eject the SIM tray

Insert a SIM card eject tool, bit, or straightened paperclip into the top edge SIM tray hole next to the plastic antenna band.

  • If inserted incorrectly (into the microphone hole), no damage will occur.
  • Press firmly to eject the tray.

Step 2 | Remove the SIM tray

Remove the SIM card tray.

The SIM card will fall out easily.

  • When reinserting, ensure the SIM card is in the correct orientation relative to the tray.

A damaged or missing rubber gasket around the SIM tray can expose your phone's internal components to water and dust damage. Replace the gasket or entire SIM tray if necessary.
