Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Screen Replacement

Replacing the screen assembly requires care due to fragile display panel components.

  • Verify you have the correct part, as some replacement screens come pre-installed in a new frame.
  • Replacement adhesive is required for this repair.

Be extremely careful and apply plenty of heat when prying the display panel to avoid damage if reusing it.

Step 1 | Heat the bottom edge

Step 1 image

Unplug and power off your phone.

  • Apply the iOpener to the back cover's bottom edge for two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be cautious not to overheat the phone, as this can damage the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Separate the bottom edge adhesive

Step 2 image

Avoid applying excessive force with the opening pick — risk of cracking the back cover glass.

  • Apply a suction cup to the phone's back near the center of the bottom edge.
  • If the back cover is cracked, try covering it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.

Superglue may be necessary if all else fails to secure the suction cup.

  • Pull on the suction cup with strong force to create a gap between the back cover and frame.
  • Insert an opening pick into the gap, taking care not to apply excessive pressure.

Reheating with the iOpener and retrying may be necessary due to tight tolerances.

Apply additional heat if you're having trouble creating a gap before attempting again.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

Be cautious when slicing the adhesive, as cutting too close to the curved corners risks cracking the glass.

  • Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to cut through the adhesive.
  • Avoid cutting near the curved corners of the phone, where glass damage is more likely.

Leave your opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 4 | Heat the left edge
