If battery is swollen, take precautions before proceeding.
Note: Reapplying adhesive affects water resistance, potentially losing IP rating.
Risk of damage to SIM card or tray if incorrect insertion occurs.
Incorrect insertion will not damage microphone or ingress gasket, but try again if unsuccessful.
Remove the SIM card tray.
The SIM card will fall out easily.
If replacing, ensure correct orientation to avoid damage.
Inspect the thin rubber gasket around the SIM tray for signs of damage or absence; replace if necessary to prevent water and dust ingress damaging internal components.
Unplug your phone and power it off.
The display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage if overheated.
Apply a suction cup to the phone's back, as close to the center of the bottom edge as possible.
Pull on the suction cup with steady force to create a gap between the back cover and frame.
Do not apply excessive force with the pick, as it may crack the back cover glass.
Risk of damage if adhesive is cut too close to curved edges.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Apply a suction cup to the phone's left edge, near its center.
Due to tight tolerances, you may need multiple attempts. Excessive force can crack the glass.
Avoid applying excessive force with the pick to prevent cracking the back cover glass.
Insert the pick under the glass's edge, then tilt it downward and push in further.
Position the pick at the bottom edge of the phone, carefully prying the back cover away from the frame.
Ensure the pick remains under the left edge of the glass near the device's bottom to prevent re-adhesion.
Careful not to crack the glass when navigating around the volume and power buttons.
Be cautious not to overheat the phone when using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
Apply a suction cup near the right edge's center.
Leave the pick under the right edge of the glass near the bottom to prevent resealing.
Insert a pick under the right center edge of the back cover.
Place a heated iOpener on the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Be gentle when handling the curved glass edges near the corners of the back cover.
If the slicing becomes difficult, stop and reapply heat before proceeding to avoid damaging the back cover.
Lift the back cover slowly.
Use opening picks to slice any remaining adhesive.
Remove the back cover.
If using Samsung custom-cut adhesives, follow the provided guide for specific instructions.
For double-sided tape, refer to a dedicated guide for proper application and removal procedures.
Be cautious when disconnecting connectors — risk of damaging nearby components.
Remove the five 3.9 mm-long screws holding the loudspeaker and lower midframe in place using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Keep track of each screw to avoid mix-ups during reassembly.
Locate the notch at the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
Remove the motherboard bracket using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Unclip and remove the motherboard bracket using a pair of blunt-nose tweezers.
Do not discard the bracket yet, as you will need to reinstall it later.
Use a spudger to gently pry up the battery connector from its socket.
Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the primary and secondary interconnect cables from the daughterboard near the bottom of the device.
Do not press down on the middle, as this can cause permanent damage to the pins if the connector is misaligned.
Use a spudger to carefully pry up and release the primary and secondary interconnect cables from the motherboard.
Remove the primary and secondary interconnect cables.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger under the left edge of the daughterboard.
Pry up gently to release the daughterboard from its recess.
Use tweezers or your fingers to pull the daughterboard up and away from the device.
Remove the daughterboard completely from the bottom of the device.
Heat an iOpener and apply it to the device's bottom-right edge for 90 seconds.
Insert the tip of the spudger into the notch on the vibrator's edge, near the bottom.
Risk of damage if not pried evenly — be careful.
Reinstall the vibrator by following these steps:
The adhesive is thin; use your fingers to verify it transferred correctly.
Disconnect the left 5G mmWave antenna connector by prying it away from the motherboard.
Disconnect the display flex cable from the motherboard.
Peel up the display and left 5G mmWave antenna flex cables, bending them out of the way to clear the motherboard and battery.
Remove the four upper midframe screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Insert spudger point into notch on right side of upper midframe.
Disconnect the right 5G mmWave antenna flex cable by prying it loose from the motherboard.
Disconnect the side button flex cable from the motherboard.
Pry up the front camera flex cable from the motherboard.
Bend the cable to keep it out of the way.
Remove the lightly adhered upper 5G mmWave antenna
Ensure proper alignment of the antenna connector before reassembling the module.
Remove the motherboard and camera assembly using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Locate the bottom left corner of the motherboard assembly.
Place a iOpener on the front camera and heat it for 90 seconds.
Insert a spudger into the gap between the frame and the front camera.
Be careful not to damage the front camera or surrounding components when handling.
Reapply the front camera during reassembly.
Remove the four 3.4 mm screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Use the point of a spudger to carefully pry up on the 5G mmWave antenna bracket's top edge.
Inspect the new battery assembly against the old one for correct configuration.
