Removing the motherboard is optional but recommended for easier access to the earpiece speaker.
Insert a SIM card eject tool, bit, or straightened paperclip into the hole on the SIM tray.
If inserted into the other hole, it will not cause damage.
A damaged or missing rubber gasket around the SIM tray can lead to water and dust damage. Replace it or the entire tray to protect your phone's internal components.
Unplug and power off your phone.
Use extreme caution with heat sources as the display and internal battery can suffer heat damage.
Apply excessive force with caution, as cracking the back cover glass is possible.
Apply strong, steady force to create a gap between the back cover and frame using the suction cup.
Avoid applying excessive force with the pick to prevent cracking the back cover glass.
Avoid cutting adhesive near the phone's curved corners, as this risks cracking the glass panel.
Heat a iOpener and apply it to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Apply a suction cup to the left edge of the phone's back.
Multiple attempts may be needed due to tight tolerances.
Position the pick under the glass's edge and gently tilt it downwards.
Continue inserting the pick until the adhesive is fully separated.
Insert a pick at the bottom edge of the phone and slide it towards the center.
Keep the pick in place under the left glass edge, near the bottom of the device, to avoid resealing the adhesive.
Insert a second pick under the center of the left back cover's edge.
Be cautious near the volume and power button frame – risk of glass cracking due to the cutout in the display glass.
Do not apply excessive heat as it can cause damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply suction cup near right edge, as close to center as possible.
Insert a pick under the right edge of the glass, near the bottom of the device.
Make sure the pick remains in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Slide the pick towards the bottom edge of the phone to separate the back cover's adhesive.
Insert a pick under the center of the right edge of the back cover.
Heat the iOpener and apply it to the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
The curved glass near the corners is prone to cracking.
Beware: incorrect reassembly can cause permanent damage to your phone.
Before sealing: power on and test all functions.
Be cautious when disconnecting the wireless charging coil connector — risk of damaging nearby components.
Use tweezers to gently peel away the wireless charging coil from the device.
Reassembly requires reconnecting the wireless charging coil connector first, then pressing down firmly to adhere the rest of the coil in place.
Remove the motherboard bracket using a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen five 3.9 mm-long screws.
Unclip the motherboard bracket with a pair of tweezers.
Use a plastic spudger to pry up and disengage the battery connector.
Remove the screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Use a spudger or tweezers to carefully pry up from this notch, releasing the clips.
Remove the loudspeaker and lower midframe.
Use a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the main and auxiliary flex cables from the daughterboard near the bottom of the device.
Do not press down in the middle as this can cause permanent damage to the pins if they are misaligned.
Disconnect the main and auxiliary flex cables using a spudger.
Remove the main flex cable by gently peeling it away from its connector.
Disconnect the left 5G antenna cable from the motherboard.
Be careful not to damage the cable or its connector.
Disconnect the main display flex cable by prying it up from the motherboard.
Peel up and gently bend the display flex cable out of the way, followed by the left 5G antenna flex cable.
Be careful not to damage these cables during this process.
Remove the upper midframe using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Disconnect the right 5G antenna flex cable from the motherboard.
Disconnect the side button flex cable from the motherboard using a pry tool.
Remove the upper 5G antenna cable by prying it loose from the motherboard then disconnecting it.
Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the corner of the 5G millimeter wave antenna module.
Be cautious not to push too hard, as the module is secured with adhesive only.
During reassembly, reconnect the 5G antenna connector first and ensure proper alignment before pressing the rest of the antenna module firmly in place to adhere it securely.
Remove the Motherboard Camera Assembly Screws using a Phillips #00 Screwdriver.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger into the bottom left corner of the motherboard assembly.
