Replacing the lower midframe may cause damage to other components — proceed with caution.
Unplug and power off your phone before starting work.
Apply a suction cup to the phone's back near its center, at the bottom edge.
If the display is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better suction or use strong tape instead of the suction cup.
Due to tight tolerances, multiple attempts may be needed before getting it right.
Apply more heat if you have trouble creating a gap.
Avoid applying excessive force with the pick to prevent back cover glass cracking.
Slide a pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive.
Avoid cutting near the phone's corners, where curved glass may crack.
Leave your pick in the seam to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Place iOpener on the left edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Apply a suction cup to the phone's back, near the left edge's center.
Due to tight tolerances, multiple attempts may be necessary. Excessive force with the pick can crack the back cover glass.
Alternatively, apply heat or a few drops of high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol into the seam to loosen adhesive.
Insert the pick under the glass's edge.
Careful when sliding across the volume and power button ridge, as the cutout in the glass can crack easily.
Excessive heat can damage the display and internal battery.
Slide a pick along the right edge of the phone to separate the back cover's adhesive.
Leave the pick under the right edge of the glass near the top to prevent resealing.
Apply iOpener to the top edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Be gentle when handling the curved glass near the corners of the back cover, as it is prone to cracking.
If cutting becomes difficult at any point, stop and reapply heat before continuing.
Remove the back cover by lifting it slowly and using opening picks to separate any remaining adhesive.
If using custom-cut adhesives or double-sided tape, follow separate guides provided for these materials.
Remove the motherboard bracket using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Do not separate the motherboard bracket from the wireless charging coil — risk of damaging the coil.
Adjust the motherboard bracket to expose the orange battery connector.
Remove the battery connector using a spudger.
Be gentle when removing connectors to avoid disturbing nearby surface-mounted components.
Remove the wireless charging coil connector with a spudger.
Use a pair of tweezers to gently peel the wireless charging coil away from the device.
Remove the five 4 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Use a spudger or tweezers to pry up the clips on the top left corner of the midframe.
Be careful not to damage the surrounding components.
Once the clips are released, carefully lift out the loudspeaker and lower midframe.
