Samsung Galaxy S10e Loudspeaker Replacement

The following instructions describe the process of removing and replacing the lower loudspeaker in a Samsung Galaxy S10e.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Opening your phone will compromise its waterproof seals; have replacement adhesive ready, or take care to avoid liquid exposure during reassembly.

  • Turn off your phone completely before proceeding with this repair.
  • Prepare an iOpener and heat the back of the phone along the right edge for about two minutes to soften the adhesive.
  • If necessary, reheat and reapply the iOpener several times to achieve a suitable temperature; follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

When using alternative heat sources (hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate), exercise caution to prevent overheating damage to the OLED display or internal battery.

Step 2 | Prepare to slice the adhesive

Identify the adhesive securing the back cover, as shown in the reference image.

  • Cut through the adhesive in the highlighted areas on the outside of the phone.
  • Be aware that the adhesive is thinnest on the right side, just below the Bixby button.

Step 3 | Secure a suction cup

Position the suction cup near the Bixby button on the thinnest part of the adhesive.

Avoid placing it on the curved edge, as this may compromise the seal.

  • If the back cover is cracked, try using strong tape for lifting or apply superglue to secure the suction cup in place and let it cure.

Step 4 | Create an opening gap

Step 4 image

Prop up the heated phone's edge on a 0.5 inch (13 mm) thick surface.

  • Lift the back cover's right edge with a suction cup, creating a slight gap between the cover and frame.
  • Apply significant force may be required; reapply heat as needed to soften adhesive.

  • Avoid overheating an iOpener or gel pack to prevent damage.

  • Press an opening tool's edge into the gap.

Be cautious: excessive force may break the rear glass, and metal tools should not be used for prying.

Step 5

  • Slide the pick around the corner and across the top edge of the phone.
  • For this area, insert the pick farther into the phone to ensure a good separation.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent re-adhesion of the adhesive.

Step 9

Stop prying if encountering resistance.

  • Use opening picks to carefully pry up the back cover.
  • If necessary, use an opening pick to cut any remaining adhesive.
  • Remove the back cover.

Step 14

Step 14 image

Turn on your phone and test the repair before reassembling.

  • Remove large chunks of old adhesive that might interfere with back cover installation.
  • Reinstall the back cover, applying heat and pressure to secure it in place.

Note: This method will not restore full waterproofing, but is suitable for most purposes.
