This guide is for replacing a broken screen on your Samsung Galaxy S10+. To do this, you'll need to remove the back cover and disconnect the screen from the motherboard.
Note that photos used in this guide are from the Galaxy S10; minor visual differences may occur, but they won't affect the overall procedure.
Unplug your phone and power it off before starting.
Apply a suction cup near the center of the right edge, where the adhesive is narrowest.
Multiple attempts may be necessary. If struggling, reapply heat or try applying isopropyl alcohol into the seam.
Avoid excessive force with the pick, as this can crack the back cover glass.
Position the phone at an angle by resting the heated right edge on a surface about 0.5 inches (13 mm) thick.
Never apply excessive pressure or slice adhesive prematurely, risking damage to the phone's casing.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the phone and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert a pick into the right edge near the bottom right corner.
Leave an opening pick in the seam to prevent adhesive from re-sealing.
Continuously heat and slice around the remaining phone edges.
Ensure thorough heating when cutting around corners to avoid damage.
Twist an opening pick into one edge of the phone to separate the back cover from the frame.
Power on your phone and test all functions before resealing the back cover. Power down your phone completely before continuing.
Remove the 9 x 4 mm Phillips screws holding the top midframe in place.
Locate the plastic clips holding the midframe in place.
Lift the midframe from the top corners of the phone.
Be cautious when handling the battery connector to avoid dislodging nearby components.
Remove the 7 x 4 mm Phillips screws holding the lower midframe in place.
Locate the triangular notch at the bottom right corner of the lower midframe.
Grasp the loosened end of the midframe with your fingers.
To avoid damaging the phone, ensure proper alignment before reinstalling.
Locate and carefully pry up the display connector using the flat edge of a spudger.
Do not apply excessive heat to the phone's internal battery.
A heat gun, hair dryer, or hot plate may also be used. Ensure not to overheat the phone.
Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the display.
Insert an opening pick into the corner, leaving it to prevent re-adhesion.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the display and heat for 1 minute.
Insert an opening pick at one end and slide it along the bottom edge, using a prying motion to slice through the adhesive.
Repeat the heating and slicing procedure for each of the remaining display sides.
Use an opening pick to carefully pry open and slice through any remaining adhesive.
If removal issues occur, consider cutting the display panel cable for easier removal of the display.
Remove the screen.
For custom-cut adhesive, refer to removal instructions and attachment procedure for new screen.
