The Samsung Galaxy S10+ motherboard removal process involves several steps. Be aware that carefully disassembling the device can be challenging, particularly when trying to remove the back cover.
Insert a SIM card eject tool, bit, or straightened paperclip into the hole on the SIM tray.
Never force or pry the SIM tray out - risk of damage to internal components.
Unplug and power off your phone before proceeding.
Before proceeding, study the image of the removed back cover and note the adhesive's location.
Risk of cracking the back cover glass: do not apply excessive force with the pick.
Due to tight tolerances, multiple attempts may be necessary. If struggling, apply more heat and try again.
Position the phone at an angle using a support about 0.5 inches (13 mm) thick.
Attempting to cut corner adhesive without heat may crack the back cover.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the phone and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert a pick into the right edge near the bottom right corner.
Leave a pick in the seam to prevent adhesive re-sealing.
Continue heating and slicing around the remaining edges of the phone.
Twist an opening pick into one edge of the phone to begin separating the back cover from the frame.
Power on your phone and test all functions before sealing the back cover, then power down completely when finished testing.
Disconnect the 9 x 4mm Phillips head screws holding the top midframe in place.
Locate the plastic clips holding the midframe in place.
Lift the midframe from the top corners.
Ensure a firm grip to avoid damaging the phone's edges.
Insert the flat end of a spudger under the battery connector attached to the motherboard below the rear-facing camera.
Be careful not to dislodge small surface-mounted components surrounding the socket.
Remove seven 4 mm Phillips screws that secure the lower midframe.
Locate and insert the point of a spudger into the notch, marked with a small triangle, near the bottom right corner of the lower midframe.
Be careful not to damage the phone's surrounding components.
Pry up gently on the midframe to release it from the phone.
Wiggle the midframe slightly to help release any remaining edge clips, taking care not to damage surrounding components.
Locate the display connector at the bottom right corner of the phone's motherboard.
Pry it loose with the flat end of a spudger.
Use a spudger to gently pry up the headphone jack's connector from its motherboard socket.
Position the spudger under the motherboard's right edge, near the volume up button.
Grasp the motherboard by its top corners using your fingers.
Be careful not to trap any cables underneath the board when reinstalling.
