This guide is compatible with both ceraic and glass backs and can be used to remove the back cover for replacement or internal access.
Disconnect power before starting repair.
Excessive force may crack the back cover glass.
Position the phone at a 0.5-inch (13 mm) angle by resting its heated right edge on a surface.
Careful not to apply too much pressure on the screen or casing.
Sliding an opening pick along the edge of the phone will help slice through the adhesive.
Avoid applying excessive force, which may crack the back cover if you attempt to cut the corner adhesives without heat first.
Heat an iOpener and apply it to the phone's bottom edge for 2 minutes.
Insert a pick into the right edge near the bottom right corner.
Leave a pick in the seam to prevent re-sealing of adhesive.
Continue applying heat to the remaining edges of the phone.
Twist an opening pick into one of the edges to separate the back cover from the frame.
Power on your phone and test all functions before sealing the back cover. Power it down completely before continuing work.
