Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Unhooking Antenna Cable Replacement

Weak signal strength can be improved by replacing the antenna, but consider upgrading to a new device as an alternative solution.

Step 1 | Battery

Locate the small slit at the bottom edge, between back and front cases.

  • Pry the back case off by inserting your finger and pulling it away from the phone.
  • If stuck, use the Plastic Opening Tools to gently pry the case off.

Push the battery's bottom edge upwards and away from the phone.

  • You can also use a Plastic Opening Tool.

Step 3 | Midframe

  • Push the SIM card down and away from its slot.
  • Pull it out towards the phone's bottom edge.

Step 4

  • Remove seven Phillips #00 screws, located around the perimeter of the phone.

Careful handling is required to avoid damage.

  • Disengage plastic clips near the power button using a plastic opening tool.
  • Remove all remaining clips before taking out the midframe.
  • The power button and volume control buttons will detach upon midframe removal.

Remove the SD card from its slot.

Step 7 | Unhooking Antenna Cable

  • Remove the antenna using Tweezers, starting with the lower end and working upwards.
  • Be careful not to damage the antenna cable.

  • Pull the antenna cable out of its connector.
