Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Unhooking Antenna Cable Replacement

Weak signal strength can be improved by replacing the antenna, but consider upgrading to a new device as an alternative solution.

Step 1 | Battery

Locate the small slit at the bottom edge, between back and front cases.

Pry the back case off by inserting your finger and pulling it away from the phone.
If stuck, use the Plastic Opening Tools to gently pry the case off.

Step 2

Push the battery's bottom edge upwards and away from the phone.

You can also use a Plastic Opening Tool.

Step 3 | Midframe

Push the SIM card down and away from its slot.
Pull it out towards the phone's bottom edge.

Step 4

Remove seven Phillips #00 screws, located around the perimeter of the phone.

Step 5

Careful handling is required to avoid damage.

Disengage plastic clips near the power button using a plastic opening tool.
Remove all remaining clips before taking out the midframe.
The power button and volume control buttons will detach upon midframe removal.

Step 6

Remove the SD card from its slot.

Step 7 | Unhooking Antenna Cable

Remove the antenna using Tweezers, starting with the lower end and working upwards.

Be careful not to damage the antenna cable.

Pull the antenna cable out of its connector.
