Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Loud Speaker Replacement
Your phone's audio is malfunctioning? Replace the media speaker to resolve the issue.
Step 1 | Battery
Find the small slit at the bottom edge between the back and front cases.
- Insert a finger and pull the back case away from the device.
- If stuck, use the Plastic Opening Tools to gently pry it off.
Step 2
Push the battery upwards using your fingers or a Plastic Opening Tool.
- The battery will come loose and can be removed.
Step 3 | Midframe
Push the SIM card down and away from its slot.
Pull the SIM card out towards the bottom edge of the phone.
Step 4
Remove seven 4.5mm Phillips #00 screws from around the phone's edge.
Step 5
Careful not to damage the plastic clips or the phone's frame.
- Start near the power button and use a plastic opening tool to disengage the plastic clips securing the midframe.
- Continue disengaging all of the clips before attempting to remove the midframe.
- The power button, volume control button, and surrounding components may fall out when the midframe is removed.
Step 6
Remove the SD card from its slot.
Step 7 | Loud Speaker
Careful: small screws can be lost easily.
- Locate the 7 screws on the plastic casing.
- Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove all 7 screws.
Step 8
Careful not to break the plastic snaps.
- Use Plastic Opening Tools to gently release the plastic snaps around the seam of the black casing.
Step 9
Remove the black plastic casing after releasing all snap fittings.
- Identify the speaker once the black plastic casing is removed.
Step 10
Use a Plastic Opening Tool to carefully lift the golden-brown clamp securing the speaker's ribbon cable.
- Hold the clamp firmly and slide it off the ribbon cable.
- Gently pull out the speaker.
