Samsung Galaxy S III Rear Case Replacement

This repair replaces the rear case.

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingernail to insert into the notch between the rear case and the rest of the phone, located at the top.

  • Gently twist the tool to release the clips holding the rear case in place.
  • This can be done without a plastic opening tool, but one is recommended to avoid damaging any clips.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the top edge of the phone, then twist it gently to widen the gap between the rear case and the phone.

  • Repeat this twisting motion several times to ensure a sufficient gap has been created.

Move the plastic opening tool along the top left corner, prying up the rear case.

Apply pressure to the top right corner of the rear case using a prying tool.

  • Pry down along the right edge, moving gradually downwards.

Remove the rear case by lifting it upwards.

  • Pry the case away from any remaining clips.
  • The case may need to be peeled up to separate completely.
