Samsung Galaxy S II Micro-USB Port Replacement

Remove the rear casing by taking it off completely.

  • Disconnect the battery and set it aside.
  • Remove the SD card, and if necessary, also take out the sim card.

Remove the Phillips head screws with a Phillips screwdriver, as indicated in the provided image.

Using a plastic tool, work your way along the outside edge of the device, carefully prying apart each connection to the phone.

  • Be cautious when removing the back housing, as the volume rocker and power button assembly can be easily misplaced.
  • Ensure you keep track of this assembly to avoid losing it during disassembly.

  • Remove the two black Phillips head screws from the top left corner.
  • Also, remove the screws from the bottom right corner of the logic board.

Disconnect all push connectors.

  • Using the small pull tab shown on the left, carefully disconnect the antenna cable.

Risk of damaging the ribbon flex button: carefully peel it off with a thin spudger.

  • Prop the motherboard on the side of the phone.
  • Remove the power button board, located near the top of the antenna wire.
  • Take out the 2 Phillips head screws at the bottom of the charging board.

Disconnect the power source before starting.

  • Pry off one end of the board using a flat tool.
  • Work slowly towards the opposite end to avoid damage.
  • A hair dryer may be used to loosen any stubborn adhesive, but use caution and follow proper safety precautions.

Remove the faulty motherboard and discard it.

  • Insert the new motherboard into its mounting bracket, ensuring all connectors are secure.
  • Secure the new motherboard using screws or clips provided with the replacement part.
