Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Display Replacement

Both digitizer and LCD must be replaced together, as they are fused. Alternative methods require specialized equipment to release the bond between them.

  • Replace both the digitizer and LCD.
  • Or, use specialized equipment to separate the components if available.

  • Remove the battery cover.
  • Extract the battery.
  • (If applicable) Remove the SIM card.

Remove all eight Phillips head screws (8 x 4mm).

  • No need to sort or label the screws.
  • Separate the phone's frame using a plastic opening tool.

Continue working around the entire frame.

  • Select a plastic opening tool suitable for the task.
  • Use it to separate the frame from other components.

  • Remove and disconnect the front camera flex.
  • Disconnect the audio jack flex.
  • Remove and disconnect the control button flex.

  • Logic Board: Gently lift above frame and flip to one side.
  • Remove the LCD Flex.
  • The logic board can now be safely removed.

Use a heatgun (heatgun) on low setting or a hairdryer to loosen the glue.

  • Apply heat from outside of display, moving around continuously.
  • Once glue is soft, use a small tool (e.g. spatula, screwdriver) to separate display from frame.

Be aware that LCD may detach from digitizer and stick to the frame, causing damage and sparking issues.

Remove the LCD from the frame.

  • Be careful when removing the button PCB, as it is glued to the bottom of the LCD.

  • Use an opening tool to gently pry off the button PCB.
  • The remaining adhesive on the button PCB will be sufficient for attaching it to the new LCD.
