Disassembling Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Whole Device

Screws inside the device may strip easily.

  • Acquire a Phillips Head screwdriver (#00) for handling internal screws.
  • Purchase or possess a flat wedge opening device.

Remove the back plate.

Remove battery from the device.

Insert and turn a Phillips head screwdriver (size 00).

  • Remove the 4mm screws securing the frame.

Note that all eight screws are identical in size.

Use a blue plastic opening tool to remove the frame from the phone.

  • Work around the phone's edges with the tool until it is loose.
  • If necessary, apply gentle force with the tool to pry off the frame completely.

Locate the volume rocker attached to the frame via two plastic prongs.

  • Carefully unhook the prongs from the frame.
  • Remove the volume rocker once it's detached.

Release the SD card slot's retaining tab.

  • Gently unhook the tab from the phone's frame.

Release the power button from its attachment points.

  • Lift out the two prongs connected to the power button.
  • Remove the power button prongs from the phone's frame.

Locate and identify the 4 ribbon cable connectors that secure the motherboard to the phone.

  • The first 3 connectors are situated on one side of the phone.
  • Use a blue plastic opening tool to carefully unlatch each wire ribbon from the motherboard.

  • Flip the motherboard over.
  • Release the last ribbon cable connector from the phone.
  • Remove the motherboard from the phone.

Examine the parts included in the repair kit.

  • Phone body
  • Screen assembly
  • Battery pack
  • Sim card tray
