Samsung Galaxy R Speaker Assembly Replacement
If sounds from your phone appear grainy or distorted, it's likely time to replace the speaker assembly.
- Lift the motherboard before attempting to remove the speaker assembly.
- To do this, simply lift the small flap on the side of the phone.
Step 1 | Rear Case
Locate the opening near the headphone jack and insert a fingernail or plastic tool.
- Gently pry the rear case away from the midframe.
- Remove the rear case from the phone.
Step 2 | Battery
Insert a plastic spudger into the lower left crevice on the back of the phone.
- Gently pry the battery away from its mounting points.
Step 3 | Remove screws
Remove the 7 x 4.0 mm screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Use a finger or an opening tool to pry the midframe apart from the phone.
Step 4 | Bottom Panel
Insert a spudger into position at the bottom left of the phone's back.
- Gently pry the exposed section of the motherboard loose from its catch.
- Lift the bottom panel upwards carefully from the phone's rear.
Step 5 | Top Panel
Use tweezers to grasp the vibrator piece firmly and pull it away from the top panel with sufficient force.
- Insert an opening tool underneath the top panel near the top left side of the back of the phone.
- Lift the panel gently from the back of the phone.
Step 6 | Speaker
Locate the speaker at the top of the phone beneath the motherboard.
Careful not to damage cables when removing the speaker.
Pull the release strap gently until the speaker separates from the phone.
