Samsung Galaxy Prevail Volume, Camera, & Power Buttons Replacement

Jammed, loose, or damaged buttons can make your phone difficult to use. Replacing them takes around 10-15 minutes and is covered in this guide.

Hold the back panel firmly and pop the open slit, located near the headphone jack, outwards.

Use either a nylon spudger or your fingernail to carefully lift the battery upwards from its recessed area on the bottom right.

Remove the 6 x 4mm screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Remove the secondary rear panel by prying with a black spudger at the recessed tabs on both sides.

  • The camera lens and speaker assembly will be exposed after removal.
  • Beware that the metal trim of the headphone jack may come loose during this process, requiring reattachment later.

Step 5

  • Pry the motherboard upwards using a spudger from the right-hand side.
  • Be aware that it is connected to the shield plate via a ribbon cable.

Step 6

  • Push the spudger inward to release the desired button.
  • Alternatively, disconnect the rubber pin connections.
