Samsung Galaxy Prevail Touch Screen Replacement
This repair guide will help resolve problems with a non-responsive or damaged display.
Step 1 | Touch Screen
Be careful when removing the back panel to avoid damaging it.
- Use your fingers to pop the open slit near the headphone jack outward.
Step 2
Remove the battery by prying it up from the recessed area at the bottom right using a nylon spudger or your fingernail.
Step 3
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove six 4mm screws.
Step 4
Be careful not to damage any components — risk of breaking the camera lens.
- Use a black spudger to carefully pry open the secondary rear panel.
- The metal trim around the headphone jack may become dislodged during this process.
Step 5
Disconnect the ribbon cable from the motherboard and shield plate.
- Gently pry the motherboard away from the case using a spudger on the right side.
Step 6
Unhinge the gray shield plate using a spudger, lifting it upwards from the right side.
The shield plate will not be fully removed as it remains attached to the front panel via a ribbon cable.
Step 7
Use a spudger to gently lift the LCD screen.
- Remove the old LCD screen from its holder.
- Install the new LCD screen into position, ensuring secure fastening.
