Samsung Galaxy Prevail Rear Speaker Replacement
This guide helps resolve issues like muffled audio, static sounds, or poor speaker call quality by replacing the speaker. The replacement process takes approximately 10-20 minutes and is detailed below.
Step 1 | Rear Speaker
Careful not to damage the surrounding components.
- Use fingers to pop out the open slit located near the headphone jack.
Step 2
Use a nylon spudger to pry the battery from its resting place in the bottom right corner.
Be gentle to avoid damaging adjacent components.
Step 3
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six 4mm screws.
Step 4
Use a black spudger to carefully unhinge the secondary rear panel at the recessed tabs on both sides.
- The motherboard will become accessible.
- Beware: The metal trim of the headphone jack may come loose during this process.
Step 5
Use moderate force to separate the battery from its adhesive backing on the motherboard.
- Lift the speaker assembly upward using a spudger.
