Samsung Galaxy Prevail Headphone Jack Replacement
This repair should take around 10-20 minutes to complete and resolve issues like static, muffled sounds, and poor earphone audio quality.
Step 1 | Headphone Jack
Careful when removing the back panel to avoid damaging it.
- Use your fingers to gently pop the open slit near the headphone jack outwards.
Step 2
Use a nylon spudger or your finger to lift the battery upwards from its recess in the bottom right corner.
Step 3
Remove six 4mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Step 4
Use a nylon spudger to carefully unhinge and pry the secondary rear panel using the recessed tabs on the left and right sides.
Be aware that the metal trim of the headphone jack may come loose during this process.
- The secondary rear panel houses the camera lens and speaker assembly.
Step 5
Use a spudger to carefully lift the speaker assembly upwards.
Apply firm pressure, as the battery is secured with adhesive to the motherboard.
Step 6
Use a spudger to carefully lift the ribbon cable for the headphone port assembly.
- The headphone jack should separate from the motherboard.
