Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 Rear Facing Camera Replacement
No prior knowledge of the device is assumed — proceed with caution.
- Identify the faulty camera.
- Disassemble the phone following proper removal procedures.
- Locate and remove the camera module securely fastened to the motherboard.
- Install a new camera module and reassemble the phone in reverse order.
Step 1 | Removing Back Casing
- Pry the plastic casing open using a fingernail or a spudger.
- Pull the casing away from the phone body.
Step 2 | Remove Battery
Remove the battery from the phone by gently pulling it out.
Step 3 | Remove Screws
Remove and store all screws securely.
- Safely set aside each screw.
Step 4 | Pry Off Back Of Phone
Insert plastic prying tool between silver frame and white face of phone.
Pry around entire frame before loosening.
- Pry carefully to avoid damage.
- Once loose, use thumbs to push motherboard out.
Step 5 | Open Up The Motherboard
Use the plastic prying tool to lift the flap.
Step 6 | Detach Motherboard
Detach the motherboard by lifting the second flap.
Step 7 | Locate Camera
- Lift the camera flap, indicated in red, using a plastic prying tool.
- Verify that you are viewing the back face of the motherboard.
Step 8 | Detach Camera
Careful removal of the camera to avoid damage.
- Lift the camera out of its mounting position.
- Set it aside in a safe location.
