Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 Home Button Replacement
Replacing the Home Button on a Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 requires this guide.
Step 1 | Removing Back Casing
Use either your fingernails or a spudger to carefully pry open the plastic casing.
- Pry in the direction that allows the casing to separate from the phone's body.
- Gently pull the casing away from the phone once it is loose.
Step 2 | Remove Battery
Slowly and carefully remove the battery from the phone.
Step 3 | Remove Screws
Remove all screws from the device.
Set them aside safely to avoid loss or damage.
Step 4 | Pry Off Back of Phone
Insert plastic opening tool between silver frame and white face.
- Pry around entire frame to loosen.
- Separate motherboard from back using thumbs.
Step 5 | Open Up the Motherboard
Use a plastic opening tool to lift the flap and completely open the motherboard.
Step 6 | Detach Motherboard
Use the plastic opening tool to lift the second flap.
Step 7 | Locate Home Button
Ensure correct orientation by identifying the side with the home button, referenced in the accompanying image.
Step 8 | Remove Home Button
Use the plastic opening tool to push the home button out.
- Push the button from the face of the phone inwards, as shown in the first image.
