Samsung Galaxy Note8 NFC Antenna and Charging Coil Assembly Replacement

Discharging the battery below 25% is crucial to prevent a fire or explosion if the battery is punctured.

  • Before disassembling, discharge the battery using normal usage or let it sit for several hours.
  • If your battery is swollen, do not heat the phone and consider seeking professional help instead of attempting repairs.

Opening the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will compromise its waterproof sealing; replacement adhesive seals are required to restore water protection.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Step 1 image

Turn off your phone.

  • Prepare an iOpener for softening adhesive.
  • Apply iOpener to the back of the Note8 along the side with the power button.

Apply a suction handle to lift the back cover.

  • Create an opening pick to access the gap, inserting at a lower angle from underneath due to the curved edges.
  • Begin at the middle of one side and use the suction handle to pull up while cutting adhesive with the pick.

Avoid excessive levering, as this may cause the back cover to break. Instead, focus on pulling with the suction handle and using the pick for cutting only.

  • Leave one pick at the bottom corner to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
  • Use a second pick to access the top corner.

If removal becomes difficult, consider reheating the iOpener and reapplying it to the back cover.

Step 3

Insert a new opening pick at the top right corner, working it around the seam.

  • If adhesion is still strong, apply heat with an iOpener.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-adhesion.

  • Maintain a slight angle, working your way up with this new pick.
  • Leave one opening pick in place, positioned at the bottom right corner, to prevent re-adhesion.

Separate adhesive on all three sides until the back cover can be lifted slowly.

Do not force it open.

If the back cover resists, reapply heat with an iOpener.

  • Lift the back cover; note the fingerprint sensor connector to be disconnected as described next.

Step 6

  • Use a pair oftweezers to safely disconnect the fingerprint sensor, if still attached.
