Samsung Galaxy Note7 Screen Assembly Replacement

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has known safety issues; however, proper repair documentation and maintenance are essential.

  • This guide assumes you have a replacement screen + midframe with other non-motherboard parts (speakers, S-pen compartment, etc).

Step 1 | Screen Assembly

Apply heat to the back panel.

  • Use a guitar pick to gently scrape off the adhesive.
  • Utilize a suction cup to remove the remaining adhesive and back panel.

Remove the screws securing the wireless charging and NFC cover with a 00 screwdriver.

  • Lift off the cover.

Disconnect the battery connector using the flat end of a plastic spudger or your fingernail.

  • Remove the five screws securing the speaker pass-through.
  • Lift the speaker pass-through off.

Step 5

Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to lift every connector on the board.

  • Press each connector slightly further upward using the spudger to prevent obstruction and getting stuck during reassembly.

Be careful not to leave any connectors blocking the motherboard or getting stuck underneath it.

Remove the mainscrew and standoff screw using a screwdriver.

Step 7

Use a plastic spudger to lift the lower section of the motherboard.

  • Lift upward on this section.
  • Remove the motherboard from its mounting bracket.

Step 8

  • Reattach the midframe and ensure it is properly seated.
  • Connect the new screen to the remaining components.
  • Reconnect any previously disconnected cables and fasteners.
  • Reinstall the back panel.
