Discharge battery to below 25% before disassembly to prevent thermal events and potential damage.
Power off your phone completely before disassembly.
Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover, as close to the edge as possible.
If your back glass is badly cracked, covering it with clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere; strong tape can also be used instead of the suction cup. If necessary, superglue the suction cup to the broken panel.
Do not insert an opening pick more than 5 mm into the phone, as this can damage internal components. Insert the tool carefully into the created gap.
Insert the opening pick into the top edge of the device and slide it along the left edge towards the bottom left corner, cutting through the adhesive.
Risk of damage to internal components: Do not insert pick more than 5 mm into phone.
Prevent adhesive re-sealing: Leave a pick in each corner as you proceed.
Remove the rear cover by lifting it straight up.
Do not risk damaging surrounding components by prying under the center of the wireless charging coil press connector.
Do not press down in the middle — this can cause pins to bend and result in permanent damage.
Careful not to damage components, use the pointed end of a spudger to pry up and disconnect the white press connector.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the six 4.0 mm screws securing the motherboard shield.
These screws may be difficult to remove due to threadlocker on their threads, so proceed with care.
Use a pair of tweezers to lift up the motherboard shield.
Handle the motherboard shield with care, as its edges can be thin and sharp.
Grip the motherboard shield using your fingers.
Use your fingers or a piano key tool to carefully peel the wireless charging coil upwards, taking care not to stretch or crease the adhesive.
Do not pull too hard on the coil, as it may be stuck due to light adhesive.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry up the battery press connector.
Insert spudger into the triangle-marked hole on the left side of the loudspeaker.
Locate the triangle-marked hole on the right side of the loudspeaker.
Use a tweezers to carefully lift out the loudspeaker.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry and disconnect the secondary interconnect cable from the daughterboard.
Disconnect the main interconnect cable from the daughterboard using the pointed end of a spudger.
Remove the 3.0 mm screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
Careful not to damage components underneath.
Use a pair of tweezers to carefully lift out the daughterboard.
Avoid damaging copper pads on vibration motor — may affect functionality.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger under the vibration motor.
Careful, as excessive force may damage components.
Pry up the vibration motor to loosen the adhesive securing it to the frame.
Use tweezers to lift and remove the vibration motor.
After removal, carefully wipe or allow any remaining alcohol solution to air dry before installing the new vibration motor.
During reassembly, refer to this guide for using a pre-cut adhesive card to secure the vibration motor to the frame.
