Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra Rear Cover Replacement

Always discharge the battery to at least 25% before disassembly for safety reasons.

  • Take note: Swollen batteries require extra caution.

Discharge the battery below 25% charge to minimize thermal risk during repair.

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Power off your phone completely before disassembling.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to the left side of the rear cover for one minute.
  • Be cautious when using alternative heating methods (hair dryer, heat gun, hot plate) - overheating may cause damage to screen or internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover as close to the edge as possible.

  • If your back glass is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.
  • Alternatively, use strong tape instead of the suction cup or superglue it if necessary.

Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the rear cover and the frame.

If you encounter difficulty, reapply heat and try again.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap, but not more than 5mm into the phone to avoid internal component damage.

Step 3 | Begin to cut the adhesive

Position the opening pick at the top of the phone's left edge.

  • Slide the pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner, cutting through the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent re-sealing of the adhesive.

Step 4 | Cut along the perimeter of the rear cover

Do not insert the opening pick more than 5 mm into the phone, as this can damage internal components.

  • Repeat the heating and cutting process for the remaining three sides of the rear cover.
  • Insert new opening picks into gaps between existing ones to continue cutting adhesive.
  • Leave an opening pick in each corner to prevent re-sealing as you work.
  • Use the opening pick to scrape around the entire perimeter of the phone, releasing any missed adhesive. Reheat stubborn areas as needed.

Step 5 | Remove the rear cover
