Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra Front-Facing Camera Replacement

Discharge the battery to less than 25% before repair to minimize thermal risk and electrical shock.

  • If your battery is swollen, take necessary precautions.

Proceed with caution: follow this guide for front-facing camera removal or replacement on the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra.

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Step 1 image

Power down your phone completely.

  • iOpener: Apply heat for one minute on the left side of the rear cover.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be cautious to avoid overheating and damaging the screen or internal battery.

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If your back glass is badly cracked, covering it with clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere.
  • Alternatively, use very strong tape instead of a suction cup, or superglue it to the broken panel if necessary.

Use strong, steady force to pull up on the suction cup and create a gap between the rear cover and frame.

Be cautious: depending on your phone's age, this may be difficult. If struggling, apply more heat and try again.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap, but do not insert it more than 5 mm or risk damaging internal components.

Step 3 | Begin to cut the adhesive

Insert opening pick no deeper than 5 mm into the phone to avoid damaging internal components.

  • Repeat heating and cutting process on three remaining sides of rear cover.
  • Insert new picks in gaps created by existing corner picks.
  • Leave a pick in each corner to prevent adhesive re-sealing.
  • Slide pick around perimeter to release any missed adhesive, reheating as needed.

  • Never press in the middle of the connector.

Misaligned connectors can cause permanent damage to the pins.
