Discharge battery to below 25% and consider precautions for a swollen battery before proceeding.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra earpiece speaker removal or replacement
  • Ensure safety by discharging battery before disassembling phone

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Step 1 image

Completely power off your phone before disassembling.

  • Apply heat to the left side of the rear cover using an iOpener for one minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but exercise care to avoid overheating and damaging the screen or internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover, near the edge.

  • If your back glass is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.
  • Use strong tape instead of the suction cup if necessary, or superglue it in extreme cases.

Pull up on the suction cup with strong force to create a gap between the rear cover and frame.

This may be difficult depending on your phone's age; apply more heat if needed and try again.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap, but do not exceed 5 mm depth to avoid internal damage.

Step 3 | Begin to cut the adhesive

Avoid inserting the opening pick more than 5 mm into the phone to prevent internal component damage.

  • Repeat the process of heating and cutting along the remaining three sides of the rear cover, repositioning new opening picks in the gaps between existing ones.
  • Leave an opening pick in each corner to maintain access as you proceed.
  • Slide a new opening pick around the perimeter of the phone to release any remaining adhesive, and reheat stubborn areas as needed.

  • Use a pointed spudger to pry up and disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector.
  • Pry only under the edge of the connector, not into it.

When re-attaching: align carefully and press down on one side until it clicks, then repeat on the other. Avoid pressing the middle.
