Samsung Galaxy Note10 Motherboard Replacement

This guide is for removing or replacing the motherboard in a Samsung Galaxy Note10.

Step 1 | Heat the back panel

Step 1 image

Power off your phone completely before disassembling it.

  • Apply an iOpener to the left edge of the back panel for 1 minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate (but be cautious not to overheat the phone)

Avoid overheating: the display and internal battery can be damaged by excessive heat.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the back panel, as close to the edge as possible.

If your back glass is badly cracked, covering it with clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere or very strong tape can be used instead.

As a last resort, superglue the suction cup to the broken panel.

  • Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the back panel and the frame.
  • If necessary, apply more heat to the edge and try again if having trouble.

Insert the point of an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner to slice the adhesive.

Do not insert the opening pick more than halfway into the phone or you risk damaging internal components.

Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

Step 4 | Slice the left side adhesive
