Samsung Galaxy Note10 Earpiece Speaker Replacement

  • For removal or replacement of the earpiece speaker, refer to this guide.

Step 1 | Heat the back panel

Power off your phone completely before disassembly.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the left edge of the back panel for one minute.
  • A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may be used as an alternative. However,

    be careful not to overheat the phone-the display and internal battery are both susceptible to heat damage

    .

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup as close to the heated edge of the back panel as possible.

If your back glass is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape or use strong tape for better adhesion.

  • Use superglue as last resort to attach suction cup to broken panel.
  • Pull up on suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the back panel and frame.
  • If struggling, reapply heat and try again; difficulty may vary by phone age.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Do not insert the opening pick more than halfway into the phone.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner.
  • Slice the adhesive with the opening pick.
  • Leave the opening pick inserted in the bottom left corner.

Step 4 | Slice the left side adhesive

Insert a second opening pick and slide it along the left side toward the top left corner.

  • The pick should break the remaining adhesive as it reaches the top left corner.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-adhesion.

Step 5 | Slice the top side adhesive

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the top edge of the phone for 1 minute.

Insert the third opening pick into the top edge gap.

  • Slide it to the top right corner and slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-sealing.

Step 7 | Slice the right side adhesive

Apply iOpener to the right edge of the phone for 1 minute.

Insert a fourth opening pick into the gap on the right side, sliding it down towards the bottom right corner.

  • The back panel should start to separate as you approach the bottom edge.
  • Slide the opening pick around the perimeter to release any missed adhesive, reheating if needed for stubborn spots.

Step 9 | Lift off the back panel

Remove the back panel by lifting it upwards.

Step 10 | Lift up the metal cover

Remove the five 4 mm Phillips head screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Use tweezers to lift and flip the metal shield over the battery connector.

Step 12 | Disconnect the battery

Hold the metal shield away from the area.

  • Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully pry up the battery connector.

Step 13 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully disconnect the wireless charging coil connector from the motherboard.

Step 14 | Remove the wireless charging coil

Hold the metal shielding at an angle to access the area.

  • Carefully lift the wireless charging coil away from the device, taking care not to damage it.
  • The wireless charging coil is attached with a weak adhesive; gently pry it loose for removal.

Step 15 | Remove the loudspeaker screws

Remove the loudspeaker by unscrewing the five 4 mm Phillips screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 16 | Remove the loudspeaker

Remove the loudspeaker with a pair of tweezers.

Step 17 | Remove the interconnect cables

  • Remove the main interconnect cable using the pointed end of a spudger.
  • Disconnect the secondary interconnect cable.

Use the pointed end of a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect cable from the daughterboard.

  • Release the secondary interconnect cable from the daughterboard.

Disconnect and remove both interconnect cables.

Step 20 | Disconnect motherboard connectors

Disconnect the display cable from the motherboard using the pointed end of a spudger.

  • Insert the pointed end of a spudger into the side button connector and gently pry it away from the motherboard.
  • Next, use the spudger to disconnect the touch layer connector from its socket on the motherboard.

Disconnect the S-Pen charging coil connector using the pointed end of a spudger.

Step 23 | Remove the motherboard

  • Insert the pointed end of a spudger into the gap between the motherboard and case.
  • Pry up the motherboard until you can grasp it firmly, then carefully remove it.

Step 24 | Earpiece Speaker

Insert the pointed tip of a spudger into the gap between the earpiece speaker and the phone's frame, located near the top right of the speaker.

Be careful not to damage any surrounding components.

  • Pry up gently with the spudger to loosen the earpiece speaker from its recess.

Remove the earpiece speaker from its recess using a pair of tweezers.

Some light adhesive may be securing the earpiece speaker — ensure to remove any old adhesive before replacement.
