Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus 5G Rear Cover Replacement

This repair guide is for the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G rear cover replacement. Steps and images may vary slightly due to differences between 5G and non-5G models, but these changes are negligible.

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Power off your phone completely.

  • Apply a preheated iOpener to the left edge of the rear cover for one minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate; however, be cautious not to overheat as this can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear cover is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.
  • Alternatively, use strong tape instead of the suction cup or superglue it directly if necessary.

Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the rear cover and frame.

If you encounter difficulties, reapply heat and try again as the tool's effectiveness may vary depending on your device's age.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner to slice the adhesive.

  • Do not insert the opening pick more than halfway into the phone, as this may damage internal components.
  • Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

Step 4 | Slice around the perimeter of the phone

Continue with a repeat heating and cutting procedure for the remaining three sides.

  • Leave an opening pick on each side before moving to the next.
  • This will prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Do not remove any picks yet, as this may cause the rear cover to seal back shut.

Step 5 | Lift off the rear cover

Remove the rear cover by lifting it straight up.

  • Refer to the reinstallation guide for detailed instructions on replacing the adhesive and reinstalling the rear cover.
  • Ensure your device is turned on before proceeding with testing to verify the repair's success.
  • Failing to test the device may lead to compromised functionality or other issues.

If using Tesa tape, consult its dedicated reattachment guide for specific instructions.
