Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus 5G Rear Camera Module Replacement

This guide is intended for removing or replacing the rear camera module on a Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G, but uses steps originally written for the non-5G model.

Some images may show minor discrepancies that do not impact the repair process.

Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or a straightened paper clip into the small hole on the SIM card tray.

  • Press firmly to eject the tray.
  • Remove the SIM card tray.

Step 2 | Heat the rear cover

Step 2 image

Completely power off your device before proceeding.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the left edge of the rear cover for one minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate; however, be cautious not to overheat as this can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 3 | Insert an opening pick

Step 3 image

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear cover is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape over it for better suction or use strong tape instead of the suction cup.
  • As a last resort, superglue the suction cup to the broken cover.

Hold the suction cup with strong, steady force and pull up to create a gap between the rear cover and the frame.

This may be difficult depending on your phone's age; if you're having trouble, apply more heat to the edge and try again.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 4 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Step 4 image

Thumbnail 3

Slide the opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner.

Do not insert the opening pick more than halfway into the phone, as this can damage internal components.

  • Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent re-sealing of the adhesive.

Step 5 | Slice around the perimeter of the phone

Step 5 image

Continue with a second heating and cutting procedure for the remaining three sides.

  • Leave an opening pick on each side before moving to the next one, to prevent resealing adhesive.
  • The rear cover should begin to separate from the phone once all sides are completed.

Step 6 | Lift off the rear cover

Remove the rear cover by lifting it straight up.

  • To reinstall, refer to the rear cover installation and adhesive replacement guide.
  • Ensure your device is powered on and functionally tested before reapplying adhesive or sealing components.
  • If using Tesa tape, consult the Tesa tape application guide for proper use.
