This repair guide is specific to removing or replacing the motherboard on your Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G. Please note that some steps were written for a non-5G model, but are still applicable with caution.
Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or a straightened paper clip into the small hole on the SIM card tray on the top edge of the phone.
Power off your phone completely before disassembling it.
Be cautious when using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to avoid overheating and damaging the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover as close to the edge as possible.
If your rear cover is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape over it before using the suction cup or use strong tape instead.
Insert the point of an opening pick into the created gap.
Insert the opening pick along the left edge, towards the bottom left corner, to slice the adhesive.
Continue heating and cutting around the remaining three sides of the phone.
Lift the rear cover straight up to remove it.
Verify components are secure with Tesa tape according to this guide.
Remove the wireless charging coil's five 4mm Phillips screws.
Use tweezers to lift and flip the metal shield over the battery connector.
Hold the metal shield aside with one hand.
Disconnect the wireless charging coil connector from the motherboard using the pointed end of a spudger.
Grasp the metal shielding with your fingers by tilting it upwards.
Remove the five 4 mm screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the loudspeaker with a pair of tweezers.
Disconnect the main interconnect cable using the pointed end of a spudger.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect cable from the daughterboard.
Disconnect the main interconnect cable.
Do not attempt to disconnect the secondary interconnect cable, as it is attached to the side 5G mmWave antenna.
Remove the top plastic cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
Use tweezers to lift and remove the top plastic cover.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully pry the touch layer connector away from the motherboard.
Insert the point of a spudger under the 5G mmWave antenna connector and gently pry it loose from the motherboard.
Be careful not to damage the motherboard or the cable.
Bend the cable away from the motherboard at an angle of about 90 degrees.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully disconnect the S-Pen charging coil connector from the motherboard.
Disconnect the display cable from the motherboard using the pointed end of a spudger.
Hold the spudger at an angle and use its pointed tip to carefully pry up the motherboard.
If the motherboard feels stuck, ensure that you ejected the SIM tray.
