Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus 5G Daughterboard Replacement

This guide is for removing or replacing the daughterboard on your Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G, which features a USB-C charging connector. Although written for the non-5G model, these steps should still be applicable. Note that some images may appear slightly different due to minor design variations.

Step 1 | Heat the rear cover

Step 1 image

Power off your phone completely before disassembly.

  • Apply an iOpener to the left edge of the rear cover for one minute.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun (but avoid overheating), or a hot plate.

Be cautious not to overheat the phone, as it may cause damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the rear cover as close to the edge as possible.

  • If your rear cover is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape to help the suction cup adhere.
  • Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the rear cover and the frame.

Be cautious when handling superglue as it can be difficult to control.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the created gap.
  • If having trouble, apply more heat and try again (dependent on phone age).

Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive

Insert an opening pick along the left edge towards the bottom left corner and slide it down to slice the adhesive.

Do not insert the pick more than halfway into the phone, as this may damage internal components.

  • Leave the pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent re-adhesion.

Step 4 | Slice around the perimeter of the phone

Continue with the heating and cutting process on the remaining three sides of the phone.

  • Leave an opening pick in place on each side before moving to the next one, preventing re-adhesion of the adhesive.
  • Proceed until all four sides have been completed, allowing the rear cover to separate from the phone.

Step 5 | Lift off the rear cover

Remove the rear cover by lifting it straight up.

  • Reinstall the rear cover as per the provided guide.
