This repair guide is for replacing a faulty speaker in your Samsung Galaxy Note II device.
Grasp the stylus at the tip and pull out of its slot in the midframe.
Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to pry at the small depression located to the left of the rear-facing camera and near the power button.
Hold the rear case at its lower left corner, where it meets the divot.
Slowly lift upwards to pry the case away from the phone.
Ensure an SD card is not inserted.
Insert microSD card only until you hear the click, to avoid damaging the slot or card.
Locate the notch in the battery compartment and insert a plastic opening tool or your finger.
Lift the battery upward to release it from its housing.
Disconnect and remove the battery from the midframe.
Remove the 11 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws holding the midframe to the display assembly.
Run the plastic opening tool along the seam.
Be cautious when prying around the corner, as damage can occur.
Use a plastic opening tool to pry along the top edge of the phone.
Push the plastic opening tool down to release the corner of the midframe from the display assembly.
Remove the display assembly from the midframe.
Remove the 3 mm Phillips #00 screw securing the speaker enclosure.
Disconnect and remove the speaker enclosure.
