The following steps will assist you with replacing the rear-facing camera assembly on a Samsung Galaxy Note II.
Remove the stylus by grasping the end and pulling it out of its midframe slot.
Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to pry at the small recess located to the left of the rear-facing camera, near the power button.
Hold the rear case by its corner near the divot and gently lift.
Use the flat end of a spudger or your fingernail to gently press the microSD card deeper into its slot.
Listen for a click, which indicates proper seating.
During reassembly, push the microSD card into the slot until you hear another click to ensure proper seating.
Remove the battery from the midframe.
Remove the 11 x 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Insert plastic opening tool into gap between midframe and front panel assembly, located at phone's side.
Run the plastic opening tool along the entire seam.
Be cautious when prying, as damage can occur.
Use a plastic opening tool to pry along the top edge of the phone.
Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap and gently push it downwards.
Release the clips located on the power button side of the phone.
Remove the display assembly from the midframe.
Remove the antenna cable connector using a spudger.
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 3mm Phillips screw holding the motherboard in place.
ESD damage can occur if not handled carefully.
Disconnect the rear-facing camera assembly cable using a spudger.
Remove the rear-facing camera assembly using tweezers or your fingers.
