Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Vibrator Replacement

The vibration motor enables phone vibration and offers haptic feedback for users.

Step 1 | Battery

Power down your device completely.

  • Verify that your device is fully shut off.
  • Place the device face-down on a clean, flat surface.

Use a spudger to pry open the back cover at the top left corner.

  • Apply the spudger to the notch beneath the battery and gently lift it out.
  • (Note: Our device was without a battery during guide creation)

Step 3 | Motherboard

  • Slide out the SIM card from its holder, moving it horizontally.
  • Retrieve the stylus from its designated holder.

Remove the rear chassis using a Phillips #000 Screwdriver: fifteen 4mm screws.

  • Careful prying — risk of damage to surrounding components.

    Insert your spudger into the stylus socket and separate the midframe from the phone.
  • Move the spudger around the edge of the phone, gently prying the midframe until entirely separated.

Disconnect the pink and white wires with the pointed end of your spudger.

  • Locate the finger print scanner cable, situated directly above the pink and white cables.
  • Using the pointed end of your dpudger, disconnect the finger print scanner cable.

Avoid damaging the delicate components — use the pointed end of your Spudger.

  • Pry off the lead connecting the Front Facing Camera to the logic board.
  • Disconnect the AMOLED Display Screen from the logic board.
  • Pull out the lead for the AMOLED Capacitive Screen.

Insert the spudger's pointed end underneath the motherboard at the top.

  • Lift the motherboard up gently using the spudger.
  • Disconnect the cable connecting the daughter board, which is attached to the underside of the motherboard.
  • Remove the motherboard from the device.

Step 8 | Vibrator

Insert the sharp end of the spudger under the golden cables.

  • Gently pry upwards to disconnect them.

Strong force may be needed to separate the vibration motor from its adhesive mount.

  • Insert one end of the Tweezers into the notch on the device.
  • Pry upwards and grasp the round part of the motor to dislodge it.
