Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Rear Facing Camera Replacement

Camera quality may degrade over time, requiring a replacement.

  • Remove the back plate.
  • Take out the mid-frame.
  • Disconnect and remove the motherboard.

Step 1 | Battery

Turn off your device completely.

  • Face the screen downwards when placing the phone on a clean, flat surface.

Locate the notch in the top left corner of the phone.

  • Use your Supdger to remove the back cover.
  • The next notch is located underneath the battery; use your Supdger to disconnect it.

Note that we were unable to complete this step as our device was without a battery.

Step 3 | Motherboard

Remove the SIM Card from its holder by sliding it horizontally.

  • Slide the SIM Card out of its slot using a gentle horizontal motion.
  • Next, remove the stylus from its holder located nearby.

Use a Phillips #000 Screwdriver to remove fifteen 4mm screws securing the rear chassis.

  • Insert a spudger into the stylus socket and pry the midframe from the phone.
  • Maintain the edge of the phone with your spudger, carefully prying the midframe until entirely separated.

  • Disconnect the pink and white wires using the pointed end of your spudger.
  • Use the pointed end of your spudger to disconnect the fingerprint scanner cable above them.

Use the Spudger's pointed end to carefully pry off the leads connecting the:

  • Front Facing Camera
  • AMOLED Display Screen
  • AMOLED Capacitive Screen

Insert the spudger's pointed end at the top end.

  • Lift the motherboard up gently.
  • Disconnect the cable connecting the daughter board, which is attached to the underside of the motherboard.
  • Remove the motherboard from the device.

Step 8 | Rear Facing Camera

Disconnect the rear-facing camera connector using a spudger.

Perform this step on a flat surface to prevent the camera from falling.

  • Locate the cable to the right of the camera module.
  • Remove the rear-facing camera once the connector has been disconnected.
